MARUKU RIDE SG BUAH-26th Oct 2011

What is Deepavali means without maruku. Ummmm how nice to have a maruku now.Such a crunchy spiral curry taste snack that normally served during Deepavali. Well...what I am trying to tell is not about Deepavali or a story of maruku , but a 'Kayuhan' which was held on Deepavali day. By chance it was happened on the special day. That is why it is called a 'kayuhan maruku' . P9 Cyclist team was invited to participate in event organized by Bangi Cyclist Group. The ride which begins at 8 am with a distance of 40 km has attracted a total of about 60 riders.The event was the best field for training especially for P9 Cyclist before playing at 'Kuale' soon ! IPD Tapah Putrajaya Trial Ride

Last night [25.10.11] P9 cyclist was invited to paddle leisurely with IPD Tapah, Perak. Although the notice was received a bit late, but it was successfully held in the presence of several members P9 Cyclist. The ride, ' Program Kayuhan Saringan Putrajaya' was their trial ride before the actual one that going to be held in December this year. Although that was their second visit to Putrajaya for fun ride, but as a 'outsiders' they still need some help in term of routing especially riding in Putrajaya at night .

For this purpose P9 Cyclist team was asked to lead them and to show the way. Elegant with KMBC jersey, P9 Cyclist led by Irfan had heading the IPD Tapah team to explore Putrajaya at night. The short ride had covered some interesting places including crossing several bridges in Putrajaya.The 'kayuhan' which begins at 9 pm, ended at about 11:30 pm. As a token of appreciation, IPD Tapah has given a bunch petai, mango and guava fruit to all members of P9 Cyclist . That's why we also called last night ride as 'Kayuhan Petai'....interesting.. hahaha [ more images in ALBUM]

Best PM 2011

As announced by Bro Zaky in FB P9 Cyclist recently that 'Best PM' will be chosen by voting and to be held at the end of this year. The prize is hydration bag 'Diosaz Quechua 5 Raid imported from the UK(picture). So, who are the lucky one that would take home the special prize.

What you need to do is to recall all Jamborees participated by P9 Cyclist. If you hardly remember which jamborees that we joined , on the left side of the blog there're logos of the Jamborees participated . No matter participated in small or big group, near or far, jersey or just t-shirt given, really 'kayuh' or just a goodies bag collection...... remember WHO was running our teams there. There should be an outstanding one....that is the PERSON we are looking for ! So, vote for them...

WEIGHT LOSS FOR CYCLISTS

I'm a larger bloke who struggles with keeping my weight down. I have to admit, I don't feel all that comfortable in lycra during my ride. I like my food and under no circumstances will I feel hungry and sacrifice my lifestyle to shed a few pounds to get up the hills quicker. I've never lost weight without a plan. "Eat less and ride more" is not a plan I've had much success with. I recently had a nutritional consult with my doctor and I asked him to outline the strategy he's using to help me get down to race weight. ECC Burung Hantu 2011 Nite Jamboree

Tepat jam pukul 4 ptg tadi (01 Oktober 2011) , Team P9 Cyclist bertolak ke UTEM Melaka bagi menyertai ECC Burung Hantu 2011 yang julung kalinya disertai oleh setiap ahli P9 Cyclist. Seramai 7 orang wakil P9 Cyclist akan bersama-sama dengan hampir 1600 'riders' dari seluruh negara akan menyusuri trek kayuhan pada waktu malam. Acara jamboree tahunan yang ditunggu-tunggu ini memiliki keistimewaannya yang tersendiri apabila ianya dilakukan pada waktu malam dan gelaran Burung Hantu adalah amat bersesuaian dengan acara tersebut.Para 'riders' akan menjadi 'burung hantu' pada malam nanti. Pada mulanya, P9 Cyclist akan menghantar 9 wakil, namun pada saat-saat akhir 2 peserta terpaksa menarik diri disebabkan masalah yg tidak dielakkan. 7 'riders' berpengalaman yang akan memikul tugas mewakili P9 Cyclist terdiri dari :

4. Bro Irfan Effendy
5. Bro Nizam Johari ( Miff Deale)
6. Bro Irwan Arman
7. Bro Shamudin

Jarak trek dianggarkan sepanjang 45km bermula dan berakhir di UTem Stadium bakal mencabar mental dan fizikal peserta. Sebanyak 5 'check-point' harus ditempuhi oleh peserta sebelum menamatkan kayuhan. Kayuhan akan bermula tepat jam 8.30 malam dan 'cut-off time' adalah pada pukul 12.30 malam. Peserta mempunyai masa selama 4 jam untuk menamatkan kayuhan. Bersandarkan pengalaman dan kemampuan yang ditunjukkan oleh team P9 Cyclist di jamboree sebelum ini, pastinya Team P9 Cyclist akan menyerlah di ECC Burung Hantu kali ini. Pastikan semangat 'team spirit' sepanjang kayuhan nanti. 'Enjoy the night ride'
